Bobby Joe Hammonds, 55, of Vanceburg, passed away Thursday, September 5, 2019, at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.
He was born August 11, 1964, in Lewis County, a son of the late Raymond and Mary Lightner Hammonds.
Bobby enjoyed Ohio State Football, eating and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Bobby is survived by his companion of 30 years, Michelle Huffer; two sons, Nick Hammonds and Nate Hammonds, both of Columbus, South Carolina; one daughter, Ashley Johnson of Columbus, Ohio; one brother, Raymond Hammonds (Jennie) of Richmond; one sister, Bonnie Riggenbach of Morgan City, Louisiana; and two grandchildren. He also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Clarence Edward Hammonds.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 14, 2019, at Dickerson Funeral Home in Vanceburg with Bro. Billy Hammonds officiating. Burial will follow in Soldier Cemetery at Garrison.
Friends may visit from Noon until 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 14, 2019 at Dickerson Funeral Home, 110 West Second Street in Vanceburg.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
