Bobby Darrell Thurman, 65, of Vanceburg, passed away Friday, October 6, 2023, at his home.
He was born June 16, 1958, in Lewis County, a son of the late Robert and Irene Griffith Thurman.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding four-wheelers, and spending time with his family.
Bobby is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Mary Cooley Thurman; five daughters, Lisa Waughtel and Tina Waughtel of Vanceburg, Rachel Thurman (Danny McGowan) of Olive Hill, Robin Thurman of Vanceburg, and Regina Cooley (Matthew Mcneely) of Palestine, West Virginia; two sons, Timothy Waughtel of Flemingsburg and Austin Cooley of Vanceburg; two sisters, Patsy Lewis and Pam Flack of Vanceburg; two brothers, Kendell Thurman of Waverly, Ohio, and Sam Thurman of Vanceburg; 18 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and special friends, Elmer and Kim Fiffe. Many other family members and friends also survive who will sadly miss him.
At the request of the family, there will be no service. Burial will be at a later date in Esham Cemetery.
