Bonnie Mauk

Bonnie Setser Mauk passed away Friday, October 24, 2025, at Hospice of Hope in Maysville at the age of 89.

Bonnie was born at Lloyd in Greenup County on January 2, 1936, a daughter of the late Hugh and Irene Setser.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Bill Mauk, and her brother, Harry Setser.

Bonnie was a devoted wife and mother who loved and cared for her family throughout her life. She was also devoted to her Savior, Jesus Christ, and was a member of Tollesboro Christian Church at the time of her passing.

Bonnie was employed by Ashland Oil for 10 years to help put her daughters through college. Beyond her work and church involvement, she volunteered at King’s Daughters Hospital and Meadowview Regional Medical Center. She also enjoyed working with Winners with Joy, a weight-loss class that brought encouragement and fellowship to many.

The staff at Hospice of Hope treated her with loving care, and the family is deeply grateful for the kindness shown to her.

Survivors include two daughters, Karen (Tom) Cox of Vanceburg and Kathy (Jim) Rice of Mayslick, and one granddaughter, Hannah (Jonathan) Wright of Lexington.

Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday, October 31, 2025, at Tollesboro Christian Church with Pastor Tom Cox Jr. and Karen Cox officiating. Burial will be in Brick Union Cemetery at Greenup.

Visitation will be after Noon Friday at the church.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Gaydos Funeral Home in Vanceburg is caring for the family of Bonnie Setser Mauk.
