LCpl. Brandon Kyle Smith, 21, of Jacksonville, North Carolina, formerly of Vanceburg, passed away Sunday, April 13, 2025, at Duke University Hospital in Durham, North Carolina.
Brandon was born at Ramstein, Germany, on November 20, 2003, a son of Debra Little of Vanceburg and Kenneth Smith of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.
Brandon enlisted into the Marine Corps in August 2021. He was in maintenance management and served as a range coach. He enjoyed playing his saxophone and spending time with family and friends.
In addition to his parents, those left to cherish Brandon’s memories include his wife, Coria Potter; a son, Kohen Ray Smith at home; a sister, Allyssa (Carlos) Smith-Esham of Colusa, California; and a brother, Zachary Smith of North Carolina.
Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 25, 2025, at Gaydos Funeral Home, 159 Second Street in Vanceburg, with Bro. Lyle Parker officiating. Burial will follow in Potter Cemetery at Garrison.
Visitation will be after 11:00 a.m. Friday at Gaydos Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Garrett Natvig, Tyler Parks, Joshua Parker, and Tommy Potter.
Military graveside rites will be accorded by American Legion Post 23 Portsmouth, Ohio.
