Carl Ray Meadows, 82, of Vanceburg, passed away Saturday, June 9, 2018, at Meadowview Regional Medical Center in Maysville.
He was born January 24, 1936, in Lewis County, a son of the late Walter Carl and Dora Sparks Meadows.
Carl was a lifelong farmer and enjoyed race cars, farming and spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by one son, Ray Meadows (Tina Riffe) of Vanceburg; two daughters, Carlene Brilliott (Jeff) of McKinney, Texas and Karen Thomas (Dallas) of Tollesboro; six grandchildren, Kimberly Wallingford, JC Thomas, Holli Driver, Eric Meadows, Brandon Meadows and Maximus Meadows; and nine great-grandchildren, Seth Wallingford, Bryce Wallingford, Jenna Wallingford, Trey Cracraft, Karleigh Thomas, Kynslee Thomas, Alex Driver, Caitlin Driver and Lincoln Meadows. He leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Janet Burris Meadows; one brother, Ronnie Meadows; and one sister, Marilyn June Overbay.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 12, 2018, at Dickerson Funeral Home in Vanceburg with Bro. Arnold Howell officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Garden of Memories in Mason County.
Friends may visit from 11:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at Dickerson Funeral Home, 110 West Second Street in Vanceburg.
Pallbearers will be Eric Meadows, Brandon Meadows, Maximus Meadows, J.C. Thomas, Seth Wallingford and Bryce Wallingford.
