Carmel Bond

Carmel Mae Flinders Bond, 83, of Vanceburg, passed away Saturday, November 15, 2025, at Southern Ohio Medical Center in Portsmouth, Ohio.

She was born in Lewis County on October 11, 1942, a daughter of the late Delbert and Helen Evans Flinders.

Carmel enjoyed reading, attending birthday parties, tractor pulls, and spending time with her family.

Survivors include three daughters, Terri Sturgill and Jacqueline Lewis of Vanceburg, and Deborah Hedger of Owenton; two sons, Timothy Edington and James Edington of Vanceburg; 15 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and three she thought of as her own, Joshua (Stacy) Edington, Amanda (Joseph) Monteith, and Ashley Lewis (Joshua Duncan). Many other family members and friends also mourn her passing.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, William Jackson Bond; three sisters, Deloris Howard, Garnett Flinders Knell, and Barbara Applegate; two brothers, Lowell Flinders and Leroy Flinders.

Services will be at Noon Monday, November 24, 2025, at Dickerson Funeral Home in Vanceburg with Bro. Jim Bob Williams officiating. Burial will be in Webster Cemetery.

Visitation will be after 10:00 a.m. Monday at Dickerson Funeral Home.
