Jessie Carolyn Cooper Davis, 80, of Vanceburg, went home to be with the Lord Friday, April 11, 2025, at Southern Ohio Medical Center Hospice in Portsmouth, Ohio. She was surrounded by her loving family.
She was born October 13, 1944, in Adams County, Ohio, a daughter of the late Jesse Andrew Cooper and Peachie Meeker Pendell.
Carol was a member of Vanceburg Church of God and loved attending church. She enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing, decorating her yard for holidays, and spending time with her family.
Carol is survived by her loving husband of 24 years, James Estes Davis; two daughters, Sandy Bevins and Donna (Butch) Polley of Vanceburg; two sons, Jeff (Stacey) Davis and Charles (Susie) Davis of Springfield, Ohio; six sisters, Mary Lou Unger and Erma (Gary) Hoop of Peebles, Ohio, Diane “Hudie” (Mitch) Wilson of Vanceburg, Edna (Terry) Turner of Beaufort, South Carolina, Janet Hooten of San Diego, California, and Earlene (Frank) Hammond of Clermont, Georgia; four brothers, David Pendell, Andrew (Kathy) Cooper, and Mike (Jennifer) Cooper of Peebles, Ohio, and Steven Cooper of Seaman, Ohio; six grandchildren, Corey (Shelley) Lewis, Lucy (Ryan) Owens, Zack (Megan) Davis, Kaleb Davis, Vickie (Joe) Penwell, and Trisha (Craig) Isaac; and seven great-grandchildren, Susie Owens, Lucas Crooks, Bailey Crooks, Luke Davis, Mya Davis, Samantha Isaac, and Wyatt Isaac. Many other family members and friends also survive who will sadly miss her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Randy Davis, and a sister, Phyllis Johnson.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at Dickerson Funeral Home, 110 West Second Street in Vanceburg, with Bro. Bryan Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Lewis County Memory Gardens at Black Oak.
Friends may visit from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 15, 2025, and after 9:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at Dickerson Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Corey Lewis, Ryan Owens, Zack Davis, Kaleb Davis, Andrew Cooper, and Mike Cooper.
Mitchie Wilson will serve as and honorary pallbearer.
In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to Vanceburg Church of God Fellowship Fund.
