Carolyn Fay “Nan” Ginn Tackett, 77, of Quincy, passed away Monday, August 17, 2020, at her home.
She was born September 14, 1942, in Lewis County, a daughter of the late Floyd and Ardalia Thomas Ginn.
Nan was a very strong-willed, family oriented fighter. She retired from factory work but continued as a homemaker and housewife. Nan welcomed anyone with open arms which made her mark and so many memories that will forever be cherished by many. She enjoyed doing work in her yard and flowers, watching UK Basketball, and spending time with her family, especially with her grandchildren.
Nan is survived by her husband of 47 years, Ted Tackett; one son, Teddy Tackett (Tanya) of Quincy; one daughter, Tara Tackett Hobbs (Robbie) of Quincy; five grandchildren, Kodey Pollard (Patricia), Tee-sah Blevins (Taylor), DJ Barney, Caleb Salvia, and Brooklyn Tackett; two great-grandchildren, Deegan Pollard and Karsyn Pollard (Bae); one brother, Tom Ginn of Garrison; and two sisters, Margaret McCaffery of Columbus, Ohio, and Carla Griffith of Norwalk, Connecticut. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Arthur Ginn, and three sisters, Kay Duvall, Martha Jane Ginn, and Helen Sue Ginn.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 21, 2020, at Globe Family Funeral Chapel at Garrison with Bro. Larry Joe Madden officiating. Burial will follow in Tackett Family Cemetery.
Friends may visit from 6:00 p.m. untl 8:00 p.m. Thursday, August 20, 2020, and after 9:00 a.m. Friday at Globe Family Funeral Chapel, 103 Dudley Avenue at Garrison.
Pallbearers will be Bryan Tackett, Kodey Pollard, D.J. Barney, Taylor Blevins, Nathan Tackett, Teddy Tackett, Zane Ruggles and Robbie Hobbs.
