Naomi Charlene Burriss, 70, of South Shore, passed away Saturday, December 14, 2024, at Southern Ohio Medical Center in Portsmouth, Ohio.
Charlene was born at Stricklett on March 13, 1954, a daughter of the late James G. Rickett and Doris Cooper Linville.
Charlene worked for the US Shoe Component Plant at Vanceburg for over 21 years. She enjoyed sewing, coloring, and reading romance novels in her spare time. She was of the Christian faith. Charlene loved her family and adored her grandchildren. She also loved her pets.
Left to cherish her memories are her husband of 32 years, Ronnie Burriss; three daughters, April (Tommy) Brown and Jenny (Bobby) Hunt of Maysville, and Selena Darnell (Roger Meadows) of Vanceburg; three sisters, Peggy (Frank) Clark, Sherri (David) Burriss, and Debbie (Nelson) Burriss of Vanceburg; and six grandchildren, Matthew Maynard, Josh Burriss, Michael Brown, Dalton (Shelby) Riggs, Cody Roberson, and Zach Burriss. Several other family members and friends also survive who will mourn her passing.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Handshoe.
Graveside services will be at Noon Thursday, December 19, 2024, in Gilliam Cemetery in Greenup County with Bro. Tony Corns officiating. Burial will follow.
Visitation will be Thursday, December 19, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at Gaydos Funeral Home, 159 Second Street in Vanceburg.
Charlene’s grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
