Charles J. Campbell Jr., 92, of Vanceburg, passed away Monday, December 9, 2024, at his home after an extended illness.
Charles was born in Addison, Ohio, on May 24, 1932, a son of the late Charles J. Campbell Sr. and Emma Mae Fry Campbell.
He was a machinist at General Dynamics in California for 45 years. He was of the Christian faith and a veteran of the Unites States Navy, in which he so proudly served. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and was an avid collector of firearms and rare coins. Most of all, he loved being with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Donna M. Seitz Campbell; two daughters, Connie (Russell) Kent of Vanceburg and Brenda Campbell of Cincinnati, Ohio; two sons, Billy Campbell and Jimmy Campbell of Cincinnati, Ohio; two grandchildren, Cody Offill and Crystal Kent of Vanceburg; three great-grandsons; and several nieces and nephews. Many other family members and friends also survive who will mourn his passing.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Norma Reddington and Wilma Taylor; four brothers, Daniel Campbell, Paul Campbell, David Campbell, and Tommy Campbell; and a grandson, David Nichols.
A memorial service will be at 6:00 p.m. Friday, December 20, 2024, at Gaydos Funeral Home, 159 Second Street in Vanceburg.
Visitation will be after 5:00 p.m. Friday, December 20, 2024, at Gaydos Funeral Home.
