Charles R. Mineer, 83, of Vanceburg, passed away Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at Southern Ohio Medical Center in Portsmouth, Ohio.
Charles was born in Lewis County on January 22, 1940, a son of the late Arthur and Gertrude Marshall Mineer.
He was an avid deer hunter, always looking for the trophy buck, and he loved watching UK basketball.
Charles was a loan officer for Citizens Deposit Bank for many years before joining Pinnacle Bank in Vanceburg where he was currently employed. He loved watching his granddaughter Mykenzie playing softball. Most of all, he loved his daughter and grandchildren. Charles was a member of Fly Branch Christian Church.
Left to cherish memories of Charles are a daughter, Ginger (Jim) Crosier of Canton, Ohio; four sisters, June (Mark) Dillon, Joyce (Harry) Meadows, and Betty (Mike) O’Connor of Foxport, and Aileen (Eric) Carpenter of Wallingford; and two grandchildren, Mykenzie Crosier and Chase Crosier.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ida Guilfoyle Mineer, on February 21, 2011; four sisters, Alice Truitt, Lula Harris, Ruby Worthington, and Sue Mineer; and three brothers, Harry Mineer, Norman Mineer, and Ralph Mineer.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 11, 2023, at Gaydos Funeral Home, 159 Second Street in Vanceburg, with Pastor Harry Meadows, Bro. Ralph Mineer, and Bro. Rodney Mineer officiating.Â
Interment will follow in Hillcrest Garden of Memories in Mason County.
Visitation will be after 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 11, 2023, at Gaydos Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Tyler Dillon, Ashley Dillon, Jeff O’Connor, Chris Worthington, Allen Childers, and Chase Crosier.
Honorary pallbearers will be Phillip Harris, AT Worthington, and Zachariah Sparks.
