Chester Ervin

Chester Lynn Ervin, 95 of Garrison, passed away Wednesday, February 9, 2022, at Community Hospice Center in Ashland.

He was born at Garrison on January 21, 1927, a son of the late Cecil and Goldie Osborne Ervin.

Chester was a devoted member of Garrison Church of Christ and held different positions in the church for over 50 years. He moved to Mansfield, Ohio, for a short time and worked for Westinghouse then returned home to Garrison and went to work for US Shoe in Vanceburg until his retirement.

He is survived by two brothers, Jerry Ervin of Crestline, Ohio, and Don (Jeanette) Ervin of Mansfield, Ohio; two sisters, Pearl Pence of Mansfield, Ohio, and Jean Kimbler of Portsmouth, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews. A host of other family members and friends also survive who will sadly mourn his passing.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Clayton Ervin, and four sisters, Lillian Williamson, Minnie Ervin, Edna Jamison, and Judy Ervin.

Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday, February 14, 2022, at Globe Family Funeral Chapel, 103 Dudley Avenue at Garrison, with his brother, Don Ervin, officiating. Burial will follow in Waring Cemetery at Garrison.

Friends may visit after Noon Monday at Globe Family Funeral Chapel at Garrison.

Pallbearers will be Daren Kimbler, Kyle Kimbler, Mark Ruggles, Markie Ruggles, Hunter Ruggles, and Steve Ervin.
