Cleo Norma Jean (Bentley) Smith, 86, of Firebrick, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at Mountain Manor of Paintsville.
She was born at Garrison on May 5, 1938, a daughter of the late Joe Babe and Pearl Willis Bentley.
Cleo attended Firebrick Christian Baptist Church and loved to visit and talk with people. She loved to cook and take food to people, especially her world famous no-bake cookies and spaghetti salad.
Survivors include four sons, Ronald Smith of Prestonsburg, Robert (Lydia) Smith of Firebrick, Donald (Vickie) Smith of Sunbury, Ohio, and Jerry (Tracy) Smith of Paintsville; five grandchildren, Christian Stroup, Suzanne Smith, Erin Days, Clay Smith, and Andrew Smith; and five great-grandchildren, Jordan Stroup, Kaleb Stroup, Hailey Stroup, Gavin Stroup, and Gavin Days. Several other family members and friends also survive who will sadly miss her.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Ronald Clay Smith; a daughter-in-law, Sandy Smith; four sisters, Audrey Boggs, Hattie Holbrook, Ilene Conley, and Violet Tinsley; and three brothers, Art Bentley, Norman Bentley, and Joe Bentley.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 14, 2025, at Morton-Hunt Family Funeral Home in South Shore with Raymond Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in Collier Memorial Gardens at South Portsmouth. Visitation for family and friends will be after 11:00 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Jared Stroup, Jordan Stroup, Kaleb Stroup, Gavin Stroup, Clay Smith, and Andrew Smith.
