Daniel Brown, 63, passed away Monday, February 9, 2026, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington.
He was born at Delaware, Ohio, on September 15, 1962, a son of the late Leslie Brown and Wanda Powers Brown.
Daniel retired as a sergeant from the United States Army, in which he proudly served. He also retired from the Kentucky Department of Transportation. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, driving, hunting, coffee, and practicing karate with his grandsons. He was a member of Clarksburg Christian Church. He especially loved spending time with his pride and joy, his grandsons Patrick, Nathan, and Jaxon, and his German shepherd, Duke.

Survivors include his wife, the love of his life, Karen Cropper Brown; a sister, Decelia “Pic” (Terry) Grubaugh; two brothers, Dwayne (Jane) Brown and William Peters; three grandsons, Patrick Brown, Nathan Brown, and Jaxon Brown; his mother-in-law, Clara Cropper McGlone; a niece, Miya Grubaugh; a nephew, Terry Grubaugh Jr.; and his best friend, Adam Snipes.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Danielle Brown; his stepfather, Dennie Christy; his father-in-law, Charlie Cropper; and his stepfather-in-law, Reno McGlone Sr.
Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 14, 2026, at Gaydos Funeral Home, 159 Second Street in Vanceburg, with Pastor Tom Cox Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Lewis County Memory Gardens at Black Oak. Military graveside rites will be accorded by Monte Lewis Stamm VFW Post 5438.
Visitation will be after noon Saturday, February 14, 2026, at Gaydos Funeral Home.
