David Blankenbeckley, 75, of Firebrick, passed away Monday, August 29, 2022, at Abbyshire Place in Bidwell, Ohio.
He was born at Portsmouth, Ohio, April 5, 1947, a son of the late Lonzo and Mora McCray Blankenbeckley. David was a member of Temple Baptist Church and a US Army Vietnam veteran. He was a Purple Heart recipient and a member of the Carpenters Union for 50 years.
Surviving are two children, Ben (Tonia) Blankenbeckley of Westerville, Ohio, and Vanessa Bowen of Firebrick; one sister, Sue Angel of South Portsmouth; and three grandchildren, Alexis (Seth) Jordan, Makaiya Blankenbeckley, and Morgan Blankenbeckley.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Connie Blankenbeckley, on November 4, 2021.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, September 1, 2022, at Roberson Funeral Home in South Shore with Rev. John Gowdy officiating. Burial will follow in Firebrick Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 31, 2022, and after 11:00 a.m. Thursday.
Military graveside rites will be accorded by James Dickey American Legion Post 23 of Portsmouth, Ohio.
