David Allen Bond, 62, of Silver Grove, passed away Thursday morning, September 7, 2017, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Edgewood due to a sudden illness.
He was born July 8, 1955, in Carter County, a son of the late Arthur and Evelyn Richmond Bond.
David was of the Protestant faith and worked as a failure analysis technician for Bosch Automotive. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, being outdoors and spending time with his family and grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Orville Bond and Mike Bond.
David is survived by his wife of 42 years, Gloria Avis Bloomfield Bond; one son, David Allen Bond II (Emily) of Foster; three grandchildren, Anna May Bond, David Allen Bond III, and Sarah Elizabeth Bond, all of Foster; and five sisters, Sharon Kegley (Bradley) of Tollesboro, Nancy Weddington (Harvey) of Vanceburg, Karen Clark (Danny Palmer) of Vanceburg, Pansy Dixon (Earl) of Maysville, and Patty Rowe (Charles) of Groveland, Florida. He also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Orville Bond and Mike Bond.
Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 9, 2017, at Dickerson Funeral Home in Vanceburg with Bro. Tony Corns officiating. Burial will follow in Skidmore Cemetery at Garrison.
Friends may visit from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 9, 2017, at Dickerson Funeral Home, 110 West Second Street in Vanceburg.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
