David Lee Christy, 72, of Lorida, Florida, passed away Saturday, December 25, 2021, at Highland Regional Medical Center in Seabring, Florida.
He was born at Portsmouth, Ohio, on February 18, 1949, a son of the late Earl Christy and Melcine Neeley Christy Taulbee.
David attended Quincy Church of Christ. He enjoyed fishing, riding his motorcycle, and spending time with family.
He is survived by seven sons, Raymond Stamper of Montgomery, Donald Stamper of Garrison, Dean Stamper of Black Oak, Roger Stamper of Black John, and Tim Stamper, Joe Stamper and Randy Stamper of Garrison; five daughters, Rhonda Stamper of Garrison, Lisa Howard of McDowell, Gale Flinders of Vanceburg, Angie Pierce of Montgomery, and Lola Owens of Aberdeen, Ohio. Several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a host of other family members and friends also survive who will sadly mourn his passing.
In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his wife, Ella Mae Stamper Christy; one sister Geneva Grayson; and three grandchildren, Stanley Stamper, Steven Stamper and Virgil Stamper.
Services will be at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, January 1, 2022, at Globe Funeral Family Chapel, 103 Dudley Avenue at Garrison, with Bro. Danny Bentley officiating.
Burial will follow in Waring Cemetery at Garrison.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
