64-year-old David Rister of Camp Dix died Monday at Southern Ohio Medical Center in Portsmouth, Ohio.
David Clarence Rister, 64, of Camp Dix, passed away Monday, December 27, 2021, at Southern Ohio Medical Center in Portsmouth, Ohio.
He was born in Greenup County on June 21, 1957, a son of the late Everett and Beulah Fraley Rister.
David was of the Pentecostal Faith. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, sitting on the front porch, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Rita Buckner Rister; two sons, Traves (Raeann) Rister, of Vanceburg and Greg (Amanda) Rister of Camp Dix; one daughter, Michelle Rister of Camp Dix; four grandchildren, Layne Porter, Lynzee Porter, Makinley Rister, and Brynlee Rister; four brothers, Charles Rister of Greenup County, Wayne Rister of Garrison, Leroy Rister of Greenup County, and JD Goddard of Garrison; three sisters, Sharon Cassidy of Vanceburg, Marie Bloomfield of South Shore, and Ora Caudill of Vanceburg; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Wilford and Betty Buckner of Camp Dix.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Howard Goddard, and three sisters, Pauline Horsley, Mary Ann Goddard, and Alice Goddard.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Sunday, January 2, 2022, at Globe Family Funeral Chapel at Camp Dix with Bro. Rick Buckner officiating. Burial will follow in Dummitt Ridge Cemetery.
Friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. until the service hour Sunday at Globe Family Funeral Chapel, 7975 Lower Kinney Road at Camp Dix.
Pallbearers will be Greg Rister, Layne Porter, Chris Rister, Lonnie Buckner, Anthony Rister, and JD Goddard.
