Della Stone Lewis, 91, of Emerson, went home to be with the Lord Friday, May 3, 2024 at her residence.
She was born in Lewis County on April 8, 1933, a daughter of the late Floyd and Essie Nolan Stone.
Della was a member of Carter City Church of Christ for 50 years and a devout Christian. She dedicated her life to her family and her legacy of love will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She was a homemaker and loving mother of 12 children.
Survivors include seven daughters, Lillie Jordan of Trace Creek, Nella (Bryan) Adkins of Bath, Indiana, Barb (Danny) Stamper of Emerson, Liz (Cephas) Littleton of Cranston, Janet Stillwell of Olive Hill, Kathy (Lester) Lewis of Morehead, and Laura Nolen of Lexington; five sons, Estill Lewis (Debbie) of Denton, Bob (Wilma) Lewis of Smith Creek, Merl Edward Lewis of Trace Creek, George (Teresa) Lewis of Greenup County, and Gary (Sinda) Lewis of Olive Hill; one sister, Eva Stone Goodwin of Vanceburg; her legacy includes 26 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; and 20 great-great-grandchildren, which she adored. Many other family members and friends also survive who will sadly miss her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 30 years, Merl Lewis; four sisters; seven brothers; a daughter-in-law, Bonnie Lewis; and two grandsons, John Lewis and Jimmy Staggs.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 8, 2024, at Globe Family Funeral Chapel, 7975 Lower Kinney Road at Camp Dix, with Bro. Lonzo Horsley officiating. Burial will follow in Stone Cemetery at Camp Dix.
Friends may visit from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 7, 2024, and after 9:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 8, 2024, at Globe Family Funeral Chapel at Camp Dix.
Pallbearers will be Estill Lewis, Bob Lewis, Ed Lewis, Danny Stamper, Jason Lewis, and Ricky Lewis.
