Delours Moore

Delours Lee Payton Moore, 79, of Frankfort, passed away Friday, January 22, 2021, at Morning Pointe Senior Living in Frankfort. Her husband of 61 years, Clarence, was at her side along with son, Mark, daughter-in-law, Jennifer, and her grandchildren.

She was born September 20, 1941, in Lewis County, a daughter of the late William Fredrick Payton and Catherine Ruth McGraw Payton.

Delours was of the Christian faith and enjoyed her worship with friends at Wright’s Chapel Church. She was devoted to her family and friends and loved her community of Garrison.

Declining health made it necessary to leave her home, where she lived in an assisted living home in Frankfort. While at Frankfort’s Morning Pointe home, she and Clarence became celebrities and made many relationships with residents and staff. During their first year, they were voted King and Queen at the annual Valentine’s Day Celebration.

Delours is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Clarence Moore; one son, Mark (Jennifer) Moore of Shelbyville; three grandchildren, Cali Sills of Frankfort, Hunter (Andrea) Moore of Mount Eden, and Shelby Moore of Shelbyville; two great-grandchildren, Oakley Sills and Briar Kelly; and two sisters, Paula (Mitch) Lykins and Betty (George) Bloomfield. She also leaves many other nieces, nephews, other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Joyce Clark and Donna Eggerton; one brother, Vernon Payton; and nephews, Douglas “Bub” Clark and Aaron Clark.

Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, January 28, 2021, at Globe Family Funeral Chapel in Garrison with Bro. Clarence Hall officiating. Burial will follow in Skidmore Cemetery at Garrison.

Friends may visit from 11:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Thursday, January 28, 2021, at Globe Family Funeral Chapel, 103 Dudley Avenue at Garrison.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Due to COVID-19 regulations, we ask that everyone wear a mask and practice social distancing.
