Dewayna Lynn Carver Adams, 59, of Quincy, passed away at home surrounded by her family on the morning of Monday, January 31, 2022.
She was born at Portsmouth, Ohio, on February 13, 1962, a daughter of Donald L. Carver and the late Carlene J. Carver.
She was a United States Army veteran, a postal carrier, and closed her career days at Southern Ohio Medical Center Registration Department.
Survivors include her father, Donald L. Carver (Faye); one son, Kristopher David Merkey of Quincy; one grandson, Keighdon Zyler Ray Toller of Vanceburg; two brothers, James Ellis Carver (Nannette Dillow) of Greenup and Donald Keith (Kim) Carver of DeBerry, Texas; one sister, Angela Dawn Potter (Terry) of Quincy; and an abundance of nieces and nephews to whom she loved dearly.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, William Rube Carver and Edena May Carver and Helen Johnson; her mother, Carlene J. Carver; one sister, Nancy Lee Carver; two brothers, William Quantrell Carver and Jeff Bradley Carver; and three nephews, Eric William Carver, James Ellis Carver II, and Dustin Quantrell Carver.
As Dewayna (Dee) leaves this Heavenly earth, she leaves behind a life well lived with many travels throughout her years of service to her country and throughout her life. Dee was a loving mother, grandmother, daughter and sister. Never hesitant to stand to protect us all and most of all how she held those she loved closest to her heart.
Graveside services will be at Noon on Monday, February 7, 2022, at Carver #2 Cemetery in Carter County with Bro. Wes Cooper officiating. (Service date has been postponed because of weather.)
Military graveside rites will be accorded by Monte Lewis Stamm VFW Post 5438.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
