Dining to Make a Difference

Dr. Randall & Bedouin Dennison to be honored as Icon Award Recipients

The Ion Center for Violence Prevention will be hosting this year’s Dining to Make a Difference event at the Cox Building in Maysville on Friday, April 19, from 6:00 – 10:00 p.m.

With a “Roaring Twenties” theme for the event, it’s sure to be roaring a good time!

DeSha’s will be the event caterer and will be offering delicious food and a “Bees Knees” signature cocktail to keep with the 1920’s theme!  Every guest will enjoy food stations, open bar, games, auction, raffle and more! 1920’s attire is encouraged, but not a must!

Back by popular demand, we will have “celebrity servers” for the event! This year, there are five people who have stepped up to participate and will soon be busy competing for donations!  Even if you can’t attend the event in person, you can certainly go on the event site and pick your favorite celebrity server to donate to.  Not only can you help them win this competition, but you will also be helping to secure needed funds for the Ion Center.  You will be seeing more about the servers on our social media pages in the coming weeks.

If you have attended Dining to Make a Difference in the past, you know there are always incredible auction items to bid on, and this year will be no different.  There are some wonderful things that have been donated by this community and there will be something for everyone on the auction!  Once again, the auction will be online, so people from anywhere can bid on these items!  Maybe there will be some fun bidding wars!  The online auction will begin Friday, April 12th, so visit the event site on that date to view all of the packages and follow your favorites! There is also a great bourbon raffle with some hard-to-find bourbons!

One of the highlights of Dining to Make a Difference every year, is having the honor to recognize someone for going above and beyond for our agency and the survivors that we serve.  This year, the Ion Center is thrilled to announce Dr. Randall & Bedouin Dennison as our 2024 Icon Award Recipients.

Christy Burch, Ion Center CEO, says, “we have had the unwavering support of Dr. Dennison and Bedouin for many years and are overwhelmed with gratitude for all they’ve done for our agency.  There is no way to appropriately thank them for their support, but we hope that recognizing them with this award can be a small token of our heartfelt thanks.  They do so much for our agency and the community, and we truly can’t thank them enough!”
