Dolly Lee Gilliam Jarrells, 89, of Vanceburg, passed away Thursday morning, June 30, 2016, at the Hospice of Hope Care Center in Maysville.
She was born June 21, 1927, in Lewis County, a daughter of the late Franzo and Callie Riley Gilliam.
Dolly was of the Christian faith and was a homemaker. She enjoyed sitting on the porch with her cats and spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Franklin Jarrells; two children, Calvin Lee Jarrells and Maurice Dean Jarrells; and four brothers, Forest Gilliam, Ches Gilliam, Richard Gilliam, and Charles Gilliam; and one sister, Bessie Sullivan.
Dolly is survived by two sons, Robert Eugene “Bobby” Jarrells and Billy Joe Jarrells, both of Vanceburg; three daughters and one son-in-law, Betty Sharon Bloomfield, Nancy and Alex McGraw, and Martha Jarrells, all of Vanceburg; one grandson, Greg Bloomfield; and two sisters, Ethel Lambert and Mary Blankenship, both of Vanceburg. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 1, 2016, at Dickerson Funeral Home in Vanceburg with Bro. Tony Corns officiating. Burial will follow in Conley Cemetery on Holly Road.
Friends may visit after 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 1, 2016, at Dickerson Funeral Home, 110 West Second Street in Vanceburg.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
