Donald Gene Bloomfield, 80, of Bucyrus, Ohio, formerly of Garrison, gently passed away Thursday, October 6, 2022, at the home of his daughter.
He was born at Harpster, Ohio, on April 12, 1942, a son of the late Kelly and Marlie Zornes Bloomfield.
He found the love of his life at an early age and married Eula Bloomfield in 1963. Together they had two children and built a wonderful life together. Don worked for Ryder Brass in Bucyrus and retired after 44 years.
He loved woodworking, riding motorcycles and going to car shows with his latest restored vehicle. He was an avid collector and loved watching his western movies and TV shows. Don and Eula had many friends and family members with which they enjoyed great times. Bowling and playing cards were some of their favorite activities. Later in life, Don attended Pentecostal Tabernacle Church in Osceloa and very much enjoyed his time there.
He lost Eula on August 14, 2019. Also preceding him in death were his siblings, Maeuvon, Ollie, Genevie, Helen, Bonnie and David.
Survivors include a son, Stephen (Roberta) Bloomfield of Kalkaska, Michigan; one daughter, Gena (Steve) Dutton of Marion, Ohio; one sister, Mary Sue Shuster of Kenton, Ohio; six grandchildren, Jennifer, Riley, Austin, Tim, Andrew, and Ben; and five great-grandchildren, Aiden, Sophia, Hailey, Harlow, and Grace. Many nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive who will sadly miss him.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 11, 2022, at Globe Family Funeral Chapel at Garrison. Burial will follow in Skidmore Cemetery at Garrison.
Friends may visit after 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 11, 2022, at Globe Family Funeral Chapel, 103 Dudley Avenue at Garrison.
