Donald R. Ginn, 81 of Vanceburg, passed away Monday, November 30, 202,0 at Southern Ohio Medical Center Hospice in Portsmouth, Ohio.
Donald was born in Lewis County on July 18, 1939, a son of the late Woodrow Leland and Bertha Mae Harris Ginn. In his earlier years he worked in construction as a mechanic. Donald also worked for the Electric Plant Board of the City of Vanceburg for over 13 years. Donald’s passion was restoring old cars. He loved going to car shows and cruise-ins with his buddies. His favorite pastime was spending time with his grandchildren.
Left to cherish Donald’s memories are his wife of 18 years, Rita Fite Ginn, whom he married July 6, 2002; two sons, Rick (Dawn) Ginn of Vanceburg, and Kevin (Jesse) Dunaway of Portsmouth, Ohio; two sisters, Beverly Sue Lewis and Dottie Edwards, both of Vanceburg; a brother, Robert Ginn of Tollesboro; and five grandchildren, Brandon Ginn, Amanda Ginn, Bethany Pollitt Taylor Pollitt, and Jacob Spencer.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Betty Hanover, Judy Miracle, and Jeretha Kinney; and two brothers, Charles Ginn and Newell Ginn.
Due to COVID-19 regulations, a private visitation and service will be Friday, December 4, 2020, at Gaydos Funeral Home, 159 Second Street in Vanceburg with Sister Jeanne Harris officiating. Burial will follow in Lewis County Memory Gardens at Black Oak.
Pallbearers will be Brandon Ginn, Taylor Pollitt, Rick Ginn, and Tim Dobo Patton.
