Donald Dewey Stone, 69, of Garrison, is now resting peacefully in the arms of Jesus.
He was born June 26, 1954, in Lewis County, a son of the late Lonnie and Bertha Horsley Stone.
Donald was of the Pentecostal Faith. He enjoyed working on lawnmowers and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 51 years, Phyllis Stone; two sons, Richard (Nancy) Stone of West Portsmouth, Ohio, and Dewey (Angel) Stone of Garrison; one grandson, Rudy (Makala) Stone; one great-granddaughter, Abbigail Stone; Hank Hall, whom he raised as a son; Destiny Hayslip, whom he raised as a daughter; two special children whom he raised as his grandchildren, Paisley and Kenneth; and a sister-in-law, Jean Stone. Several nieces and nephews also survive who will sadly miss him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Jackie Stone; one sister, Stella Kimber; three infant sisters; and a daughter-in-law, Crystal Stone.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, July 28, 2023, at Dickerson Funeral Home, 110 West Second Street in Vanceburg, with Bro. Morgan Hall and Bro. Clarence Hall officiating. Burial will follow in Maddy Lewis Cemetery on Kinney Road.
Friends may visit after 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 28, 2023, at Dickerson Funeral Home.
Donald’s family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
