Donna Irene Corns Geagley, 99, of Tollesboro, died Thursday, July 28, 2016, at her home.
She was the widow of Everett Byron Geagley, who died October 8, 1992.
Mrs. Geagley was a member of Tollesboro Christian Church and was a retired school teacher with the Lewis County Board of Education. She began her career teaching in a two-room schoolhouse and at her retirement was a second grade teacher for Tollesboro Elementary School.
She was born in Lewis County, August 27, 1916, the daughter of the late Joe and Myrnie Gillespie Corns.
Survivors include her two sons, Jeffrey Byron Geagley and Gordon Jay Geagley (Judy), both of Tollesboro; three grandchildren, Michael Jay Geagley (Marlene), Jody Lynn Paver (Bruce) and Robin Marie Hutchison (Lane); and three great-grandchildren, Michael Everett Geagley, Coy Dylan Paver and Xavier Joseph Paver.
Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Arthur William Corns and Scott Scoville Corns.
Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 31, 2016, at Barbour and Son Funeral Home in Tollesboro with Rev. Layne Wagner officiating.
Burial will be in Hillcrest Garden of Memories.
Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Saturday, July 30, 2016, at the funeral home.
