Dora Lucille Hester Thomas, 81, of Tollesboro, passed away Friday, August 8, 2025, at Maysville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Lewis County on November 22, 1943, a daughter of the late CW and Alma Genevive Arthurs Hester.
Dora enjoyed working in her yard, washing her car, cleaning house, and spending time with her family.
Survivors include two sons, Terry Ray (Terri Lynn) Thomas and Lee Thomas of Tollesboro; a sister, Brenda Lykins of Vanceburg; three grandchildren, Bridget (Jason) Hazelrigg, Nicholas Thomas, and Allison Thomas; and two great-grandchildren, RaeLee Love and Brady Love. Many other family members and friends also survive who will sadly miss her.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 59 years, Gary Lee Thomas; a sister, Inez Williamson; and three brothers, Douglas Hester, Charles Hester, and Harry Hester.
Services will be at Noon Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at Tollesboro Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Bro. Layne Wagner and Bro. Johnny Byard officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
Visitation will be after 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at Tollesboro Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 11918 Ky 57 at Tollesboro.
Pallbearers will be Brady Love, Brad Williamson, Greg Williamson, Shane Lykins, Shannon Lykins, and Nicholas Thomas. Honorary pallbearers will be Bridget Hazelrigg, RaeLee Love, and Allison Thomas.
