Dottie Violet Cooper Jordan, 87, of Fairlane Drive in Vanceburg, passed away Wednesday, January 8, 2020, at her home. Her loving family was at her side.
She was born November 1, 1932, in Lewis County, a daughter of the late Ithel and Dottie Violet Roe Cooper.
Dottie was a member of Scotts Branch Church of Christ and was a lifelong homemaker. She enjoyed going to church, cooking, gardening, farming, and spending time with her family and friends, especially with her grandchildren
Dottie is survived by her husband, William Robert “Bill” Jordan; two daughters, Sharon Lewis of Vanceburg, and Shirley Lewis (Bryan) of Camp Dix; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Wade Cooper.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, January 12, 2020, at Dickerson Funeral Home in Vanceburg with Bro. David Skidmore and Bro. David Prater officiating. Burial will follow in Stone Cemetery.
Friends may visit from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Saturday, January 11, 2020, and after 11:00 a.m. Sunday at Dickerson Funeral Home, 110 West Second Street in Vanceburg.
Pallbearers will be Marty Lewis, Jordan Logan, Bryan Lewis, Jackie Stafford, Chad Kidwell, and DW Kidwell. Herb Jordan and Kermit Jordan will serve as honorary pallbearers.
