Douglas McArthur “Mickey” Hamlin, 80, of Vanceburg, passed away Wednesday, June 15, 2022, at Maysville Nursing and Rehabilitation.
He was born in Lewis County on March 17, 1943, a son of the late Vernon and Francis Hamlin.
Mickey enjoyed finding treasures with his metal detector, coin collecting, collecting old bottles, gardening, and spending time with his family.
Mickey is survived by two daughters, Trenda Caiazzo of Vanceburg, Kylie Hamlin of Anderson, Ohio; one brother, Roger Hamlin of King, North Carolina; a sister-in-law, Constance Smith of Vanceburg; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. A host of other family and friends also survive who will sadly mourn his passing.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 56 years, Loretta Mae Carrington Hamlin.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 20, 2022, at Dickerson Funeral Home, 110 West Second Street in Vanceburg, with Bro. Tony Corns officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Tabor Cemetery at Tollesboro.
Friends may visit one hour prior to services Monday, June 20, 2022, at Dickerson Funeral Home.
Family and Friends will serve as pallbearers.
