Dwight E. Adams, 65, of Vanceburg, passed away Thursday, November 21, 2024, at Southern Ohio Medical Center in Portsmouth, Ohio.
Dwight was born at Portsmouth, Ohio, on October 9, 1959, a son of the late Leslie E. and Ethel Miller Adams.
Dwight was a plumber for over 35 years, having worked for various Industrial companies. He loved golfing, riding his Harley Davidson because (in his opinion) there was no other bike. He was huge animal lover and liked listening to music, especially Jimmy Buffett and Lynyrd Skynyrd. He also enjoyed playing his guitar and was an avid Bengals fan. Dwight never knew a stranger and was always willing to give family and friends in need a helping hand.Â
Dwight served as a deacon at Garrison First Baptist Church. Most of all he loved God, his family, and his country. Â
Survivors include a daughter, Jennifer (Tranell) Brooks of Dayton, Ohio; two sons, Kyle Adams of Vanceburg and Garrett (Mary) Adams of Indianapolis, Indiana; four sisters, Kathy (Keith) Adams Wright and Jeanne (Chuck) Gordon of Melbourne, Florida, Marge Everman of Portsmouth, Ohio, and Donna Ruckel of Vanceburg;Â one brother, Roger Caldwell of Garrison; four grandchildren, Gabriel Simmons, Shaelynn Thobe, Kaedyn Brooks, and Emalee Adams;Â his second wife, Jeri Ann Mills of Greenwood, Indiana; two sisters-in-law, Marilynn Adams of Aberdeen, Ohio, and Brenda Caldwell of Tollesboro; and his lifelong BEST friend for 45 years, Denver Melton Jr. Several nieces, nephews, and extended family members also survive who will mourn his passing.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Sherryl Moses Adams; his third wife, Petra Bahms Adams; two sons, Joshua Adams and Dwight Adams Jr.; four sisters, Janice Elizondo, Faye Johnson, Barbara Cottrell, and Linda Johnson; three brothers, Dewey Robert Adams, Thomas Adams, and Chester Caldwell; a sister-in-law, Kathy Caldwell; and four brothers-in-law, Jon Johnson, Jerry Ruckel, Les Cottrell, and Terry Hendrickson.
At the family’s request, there will be no service at this time.
A memorial service will be at the convenience of the family.
