Earl Monroe Butler, 91, of Vanceburg, passed away Saturday, July 18, 2020, at his home.
He was born June 27, 1929, in Lewis County, a son of the late Menifee and Geniva Stone Butler.
Earl proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1951 to 1952 and retired from Swan Rubber in Bucyrus, Ohio, after 17 years. He enjoyed working on lawn mowers, fishing, hunting, digging ginseng and spending time with his family.
Earl is survived by his wife of 38 years, Karen Toller Butler; four sons, Earl Wayne Butler (Pam) of Bucyrus, Ohio, Steve Butler (Cindy) of Woodland, Alabama, Francis Toller (Jennifer) of Grayson, and Rodney Butler of LaGrange; one daughter, Sandy Young of Vanceburg; two brothers, Charles Butler (Irene) and Mike Butler (Pam), of Bucyrus, Ohio; two sisters, Shirley Evans (Roger) of Circleville, Ohio, and Judy Smith (Harold) of Vanceburg; nine grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren. He also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Linda Butler; one infant child; one grandson, Allen Leroy Stuckert; and three sisters, Ruby Cole, Kathy Lykins and Virginia Blevins.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 23, 2020, at Dickerson Funeral Home in Vanceburg with Bro. Wes Cooper and Bro. Jason Lykins officiating. Burial will follow in Lewis County Memory Gardens at Black Oak.
Friends may visit from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 22, 2020, and after 9:00 a.m. Thursday at Dickerson Funeral Home, 110 West Second Street in Vanceburg.
Pallbearers will be Greg Kiselak, Nick Kiselak, Kevin McFadden, Steve Butler, Matt Hinton and David Evans.
