Edna Deloris Swim Thomas, 90, of Tollesboro, passed away Friday, March 8, 2024, at Hospice of Hope at Kenton Pointe in Maysville.
She was born February 13, 1934, in Lewis County, a daughter of the late Robert “Jack” and Myrtle Welch Swim.
Edna enjoyed farming, gardening, working in her flowers, doing needlework, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and pets.
Survivors include three daughters, Andrea (Jeff) Hardymon and Jennifer Thomas of Tollesboro, and Elizabeth (John) Campbell of Fairview; two sons, Billy Thomas of Tollesboro and Darrell (Jaci) Thomas of Maysville; one sister, Gladys (Jim) Riley of Vanceburg; one brother, Doug (Marilyn) Swim of Mt. Carmel; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Many other family members and friends also survive who will sadly miss her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Andrew “Andy” Thomas; three children, Carla Jo Fraley, Albert Lee Thomas, and James Robert Thomas; one grandson, Tyler Wallace; and nine siblings.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at Galilee Church on Burtonville Road at Tollesboro with Bro. Phil Cropper officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
Friends may visit after Noon Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at Galilee Church.
Pallbearers will be Darrell Thomas, Jonathan Hardymon, Stephen Hardymon, Koren Reeves, Jeff Hardymon, and John Campbell.
Billy Thomas will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
Arrangements are under the care of Tollesboro Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
