Ellen Irene Cassidy Rister, 50, of South Shore, passed away Saturday, February 25, 2017, at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland.
She was born December 18, 1966, in Greenup County, a daughter of the late William Issac and Beulah Watkins Cassidy.
Ellen was a member of the Lloyd Ridge Pentecostal Church and was a homemaker. She enjoyed shopping, going out to eat, and spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren.
Ellen is survived by her companion of three years, George Madden; a son and daughter-in-law, John and Ashley Rister of Denton; two daughters and one son-in-law, Crystal and Quinton Farmer of Marion, Ohio, and Sharon Rister of Carter City; seven grandchildren; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Mark and Linda Cassidy of South Shore, and Harold Cassidy of Minford, Ohio; and one sister and brother-in-law, Roxey and Dean Davis of South Shore. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, James Cotton Cassidy; and three sisters, Bessie Rister, Linda Jewell, and Sharon Nancy Rister.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 3, 2017, at Globe Family Funeral Chapel in Garrison with Sister Linda Cassidy officiating. Burial will follow in Dummitt Ridge Cemetery in Lewis County.
Friends may visit from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, March 2, 2017, and after 9:00 a.m. Friday at Globe Family Funeral Chapel, 103 Dudley Avenue in Garrison.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
