Estille Lee Bloomfield, 96, of Vanceburg, passed away Saturday afternoon, May 13, 2017, at Hospice of Hope at Kenton Pointe in Maysville.
He was born December 12, 1920, in Lewis County, a son of the late Ruben J. and Laura Stafford Bloomfield.
Estille proudly served our country in the United States Army and was a retired mechanic and bus driver for the Lewis County School System. He was a member of Laurel Point Christian Holiness Church and enjoyed woodworking, watching and feeding the squirrels, fishing, watching UK Basketball and Cincinnati Reds baseball games on TV and spending time with his grandbabies and grandchildren.
Estille is survived by one son, Jerry Lee Bloomfield (Shelia) of Vanceburg; two daughters, Sharon Bloomfield and Judy Harman Tolle (Ronnie) all of Vanceburg; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one brother, Alton Bloomfield (Janet) of Chillicothe, Ohio; and one sister, Faye Blankenship (Fred Jr.) Of Nevada, Ohio. He also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 72 years, Mabel Evangeline Dummitt Bloomfield; one brother, Walter Bloomfield; and four sisters, Dorothy Hamilton Copeland, Betty Hamilton, Millie Fannin, and Beatrice Thacker.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 18, 2017, at Laurel Point Christian Holiness Church with Bro. Clifford Muse and Bro. Jerry Jordan officiating. Burial will follow in Morgan Cemetery at Head of Grassy with full military honors accorded by Monte Lewis Stamm VFW Post 5438 of Vanceburg.
Friends may visit from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 17, 2017, at Dickerson Funeral Home in Vanceburg and after 10:00 a.m. Thursday at the church.
Pallbearers will be Bradley Bloomfield, Kyle Bloomfield, Jonathan Galloway, Robert Caudill, Michael Fannin and David McRoberts.
