Evelyn Ann Dunaway, 73, passed away Monday, February 13, 2023, at her home with her family by her side.
She was born on August 8, 1949, to the late Thomas and Williejean Holbrook Sexton.
Evelyn loved to play card games such as Rummy and Uno, amongst others. She loved spending time with her family, especially her kids and grandkids. She enjoyed working at the nursing home with her “people.”
Evelyn is survived by one son, Ralph (Katrina) Sexton of Vanceburg; three daughters, Sherry Dunaway of Vanceburg, Tina (Ray) Stamper of Garrison, and Deborah (Brent) Bloomfield of Laurel; 12 grandchildren, Jesse Sexton, Joselyn Johnson, Brian Dummitt, Dallas Sexton, Sydney Noble, Kenny Scott, Astin Butler, Jaden Stamper, Alexis Sudderth, Tyana Sudderth, Caden Bloomfield, and Eli Bloomfield; seven great-grandchildren and one on the way; and one brother, Tommy Sexton.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Dunaway; a grandson, Stanley Ray Stamper; two brothers, Frank Sexton Sr. and Don Sexton; and one sister, Thelma Maggard.
Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, February 19, 2023, at Gaydos Funeral Home, 159 Second Street in Vanceburg with Bro. Tim Underwood officiating. Burial will follow in Lewis County Memory Gardens in Black Oak.
