Evelyn Ruth Heddleston, 86, of Vanceburg, passed away Saturday, February 5, 2022, at Vanceburg Rehabilitation and Care.
She was born in Lewis County on November 8, 1935, a daughter of the late Robert E. Heddleston Sr. and Mollie McCall Heddleston.
Evelyn served as song leader and treasurer at Shepherd’s Chapel. She enjoyed gardening, farming, sewing, quilting, and photo shooting.
Survivors include two brothers, Robert Heddleston Jr. and James (Connie) Heddleston of Vanceburg; a sister, Joann (Jackie) Shields of Muses Mills; and a host of other family members and friends who will sadly mourn her passing.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 10 years, Fred Bowkamp, and a sister, Geneva Simpson.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, February 13, 2022, at Dickerson Funeral Home, 110 West Second Street in Vanceburg, with Bro. Jerry Bloomfield officiating. Burial will follow in Valley Cemetery.
Friends may visit one hour prior to services Sunday, February 13, 2022, at Dickerson Funeral Home.
Friends and family will serve as pallbearers.
