Federal-Mogul Motorparts has announced it will close its Maysville facility by the end of 2016, putting more than 100 employees out of work, according to a report by the Maysville Ledger Independent.
In a statement, the company said it “notified employees at its Maysville distribution center that the facility will close by the end of 2016.”
“Federal-Mogul Motorparts is realigning its North American distribution network to increase efficiencies and enhance our ability to serve our customers,” Eric Duvall, vice president, supply chain management, Americas, Federal-Mogul Motorparts said. “The transfer of operations from our Maysville distribution facility to our distribution facility in Moreno Valley, California, is one of the results of this realignment.”
In 2014 the company had announced plans to close that same facility in mid-2015 but later decided to keep it operating following discussions with the Kentucky Cabinet for Economic Development.
At that time, the company announced plans to turn the Kentucky operation into its dedicated North American product logistics center.
