Floyd Kenneth Gilbert, 88, of Vanceburg, passed away Wednesday, May 25, 2022, at Maysville Nursing and Rehabilitation.
He was born in Lewis County on August 30, 1933, a son of the late Odie and Clara Polley Gilbert.
Floyd enjoyed being with his family, sitting and visiting with his neighbors, being outdoors, fishing, watching and laughing with the grandbabies, and he especially loved being with his wife Alma.
Floyd is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Alma Watson Gilbert; two sons, Mark (Peggy) Hunt of Garrison and Michael (Kathy) Hunt of Maysville; two daughters, Maria (Todd) Lewis and Melissa (Rodney) Switzer of Vanceburg; 13 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. A host of other family members and friends also survive who will sadly mourn his passing.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Russell Gilbert, Harlan Gilbert, and Hansel Gilbert, and two sisters, Thelma Sparks and Myrtle Gilbert.
At Mr. Gilbert’s request there will be no service.
