Frances Marie Gardner Kirby Tackett, 84, of Vanceburg, passed away Friday morning, August 21, 2020, at SOMC Hospice Center in Portsmouth, Ohio.
She was born January 29, 1936, in Gallia County, Ohio, a daughter of the late Raymond and Elva Foose Gardner.
Frances was a member of the Bridge Church of Vanceburg. She enjoyed going to flea markets, traveling, family gatherings and talking on her cell phone to her family.
Frances is survived by two daughters, Bonnie Marie Collier (Manneth) of Quincy, and Mary Lin Lightner (Donnie) of Vanceburg; a stepdaughter, Carolyn Biggs of Pomeroy, Ohio; two sisters, Ellen Slaven of Idaho and Betty Vanbuskirk of Ohio; five grandchildren, Howie, Ben, Mannetta, Billy Joe and Tasha; six great-grandchildren, Skyle, Bailey, Brinley, Kiersten, Brenea and Daelyna; four great-great-grandchildren, Skye Kelly, Ayden, Kisyn and Brenton. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly mourn her passing.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, Ben Tackett; one stepdaughter, Patti Miller; two brothers, Luther Gardner and Ike Gardner; and two sisters, Virginia Brothers and Nancy Altavater.
A private service will be Tuesday, August 25, 2020, at Dickerson Funeral Home in Vanceburg with Bro. Ben Collier and Bro. Wes Cooper officiating. Burial will follow in Skidmore Cemetery at Garrison.
Pallbearers will be Howie Collier, Donnie Lightner, Manneth Collier, Ben Collier, Skyle Collier and Dee Bonner.
