James Franklin “Frank” Hobbs Sr., 64, of Vanceburg, passed away Saturday, May 22, 2021, at Southern Ohio Medical Center in Portsmouth, Ohio.
He was born March 17, 1957, in Lewis County, a son of the late Charles Robert and Myrtle Carpenter Hobbs.
Frank is survived by his wife of 46 years, Robin Ann Smith Hobbs; three sons, James Franklin Hobbs Jr. of Vanceburg, Michael Hobbs (Pamela) of Tollesboro, and Travis Hobbs (Wanda) of Vanceburg; one brother, Mitch Hobbs of Vanceburg; nine sisters, Barsetta Bolander and Vessie Collier of Garrison, Carmella Hall, Barbara Caseman, Nellie Bolander, Jeanie Thurman, Rosella Thurman, and Youlanda Hamilton of Vanceburg, and Joann Riffe of Garrison; and eight grandchildren. He also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly mourn his passing.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Robert Hobbs Jr. and a daughter-in-law, Christel Stone Hobbs.
Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 28, 2021, at Dickerson Funeral Home in Vanceburg with Bro. Adam Dunigan and Bro. Brian Flannery officiating. Interment will follow in Lewis County Memory Gardens at Black Oak.
Friends may visit from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 28, 2021, at Dickerson Funeral Home, 110 West Second Street in Vanceburg.
Pallbearers will be Isiaih Hobbs, Hunter Hobbs, J.D. McClure, Parker Stone, Myron Madden, and Eli Simpson.
