Garnet Christine Flinders Knell, 77, of Vanceburg, passed away Monday, December 25, 2017, at Hospice of Hope at Kenton Pointe in Maysville.

She was born August 27, 1940, in Lewis County, a daughter of the late Delbert Flinders and Helen Evans Flinders Drake.

Garnet was a member of Evans Chapel Church and was a homemaker. She loved going to church, sewing, and spending time with her family and friends, especially with her grandchildren.

Garnet is survived by her companion, Charles Knell; one son and daughter-in-law, Christopher and Sydonna Lewis of Tollesboro; four daughters and sons-in-law, Pamela and Tony Knell and Rebecca and Steven Mowery, all of Portsmouth, Ohio, Sheila and Matt Lewis of Vanceburg, and Lisa and Victor Hamm of Maysville; 16 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Carmel Bond of Vanceburg. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Lewis; her second husband, Carl Knell; one son, Charles Trevor Lewis; one great grandson, Ian Moore; two brothers, Lowell Flinders and Leroy Flinders; and two sisters, Delores Howard and Barbara Applegate.

Services will be  at Noon Friday, December 29, 2017, at Dickerson Funeral Home in Vanceburg with Bro. Tom Shope and Bro. Ronnie Hall officiating. Burial will follow in the Webster Cemetery.

Friends may visit from 10:30 a.m. until Noon Friday, December 29, 2017, at Dickerson Funeral Home, 110 West Second Street in Vanceburg.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
