Garry Barker, 71, of Tollesboro, passed away Sunday, September 25, 2022, at Anderson Mercy Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio.
He was born February 1, 1951, in Elliott County, a son of the late Eugene and Betty Barker Leadingham.
Garry enjoyed watching TV, hunting, fishing, riding his four-wheeler, and spending time with family, especially his grandchildren.
Survivors include a son, Garry Barker Jr. of Vanceburg; two daughters, Tereasa Ruark of Tollesboro and Crystal Barker of Nowell, West Virginia; the mother of his children, Connie Montieth; six girls that he claimed as his own, Lisa Fannin, Heather Montieth, Dawn Cafaro, Stacy Cox, Jenny Haynes, Brandy Foster; four brothers, Velton Leadingham of North Carolina, Buris Leadingham of Olive Hill, Ricky Leadingham of Elliott County, and Scotty Leadingham of Morehead; two sisters, Vera Middleton of Elliott County and Renee Cox of Olive Hill; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. A host of other family and friends also survive who will sadly mourn his passing.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Justin Barker; two brothers, Madison Leadingham and Kim Leadingham; and a sister, Dottie Wagoner.
A memorial service will be at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, October 2, 2022, at New Haven Freewill Baptist Church in Elliott County with Bro. Ricky Leadingham and Buris Leadingham officiating. Burial will follow in Leadingham Cemetery.
