Gary Roe Miller, 67, of Vanceburg, passed away Wednesday evening, August 14, 2019, at St. Claire Health Care Center in Morehead.
He was born on April 21, 1952, in Carter County, a son of the late Burgess P. and Lula Irene Logan Miller.
Gary was of the Pentecostal faith, a self-employed construction worker, and mechanic, fixing everything that he could. He freely dug graves for many of his family and friends over the years. Gary enjoyed working in concrete, being outdoors and spending time with his family and friends.
Gary is survived by his wife of 41 years, Lula Jane Bloomfield Miller; one son, Daniel Lee Miller of Grayson; one daughter, Amy Lou Wagoner (Alex) of Vanceburg; two brothers, Owen Miller (Karen) and Rodney Miller, all of Olive Hill; seven sisters, Sue Brumley (John) of Georgetown, Betty Butler (Albert), and Sandra Boggs, all of Olive Hill, Diane Saterfield (John) of Mansfield, Ohio, Venia Jordan (Chuck) of Owingsville, Glenda Geisler of Oxford, Ohio, and Valentinia Boggs (Verl) of Morehead; and two grandchildren, Nathan Blake Wagoner and Trinity Faith Wagoner, both of Vanceburg. He also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Vonloy Miller.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 20, 2019, at Nolen Pentecostal Church of God on Laurel Road with Bro. Hansel Butler officiating. Burial will follow in Nolen Cemetery.
Friends may visit from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday, August 19, 2019, and after 9:00 a.m. Tuesday at Nolen Pentecostal Church of God.
Pallbearers will be Curtis Bloomfield, Jackie Bloomfield, Alex Wagoner, Eric Johnson, Doug Davis, and Terry Richmond.
