Gayle Edward Truesdell, 85, of Maysville, passed away Sunday, April 27, 2025, at his home.
He was born in Lewis County on September 16, 1939, a son of the late Carl and Alice Bayless Truesdell.
Gayle loved playing his guitar, and praising and worshiping his Lord and Savior at Petersville Church of God with his church family. He enjoyed working on old cars, going on fishing trips, and spending time with his family. Gayle was a Kentucky Colonel.
Survivors include a daughter, Jeannette (Eddie) Muran of Poplar Grove; three sons, Johnny Frankie Truesdell of Vanceburg, Phillip Truesdell of Ripley, Ohio, and Dennis (Lisa) Truesdell of Orangeburg; a daughter-in-law, Sharon Truesdell of Orangeburg; three sisters, Judy Highfield and Linda Conley of Flemingsburg, and Sandy (Mike) Brammel of West Union, Ohio; two brothers, Tommy “Opie” Truesdell and Kenny (Janie) Truesdell of Vanceburg; 10 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren. Many other family members and friends also survive who will sadly miss him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 63 years, Betty Lou Brown Truesdell; two sons, Timothy Gayle Truesdell and Steven Dale Truesdell; two daughters-in-law, Anna Truesdell and Patty Truesdell; two sisters, Effie Dixon and Edna Littleton; three brothers, Delbert Truesdell, John Truesdell, and Larry Truesdell; two grandchildren, Natoshia Truesdell and Frankie Jean Truesdell; and one great-grandson, Espn Hunt.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 1, 2025, at Tollesboro Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 11918 KY 57 at Tollesboro, with Bro. Milton Stanfield officiating. Burial will follow in Olivet Cemetery in Mason County.
Friends may visit from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 30, 2025, and after 9:00 a.m. Thursday, May 1, 2025, at Tollesboro Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Nathan Truesdell, Edward Moran, Steven Truesdell, Chris Truesdell, Eddie Moran, and Hunter Truesdell.
Honorary pallbearers will be Kyler Truesdell, Dwayne Meadows, and Mark Barnett.
