Geneva J. Mefford Grayson Wilds, 72 of Portsmouth, Ohio, went to be with the Lord, Sunday, August 28, 2016, at her residence.
She was born, June 17, 1944, in Springfield, Ohio, a daughter of the late Otis and Otie Jane Sexton Mefford. Geneva was also preceded in death by two sons, Eddie Grayson Jr. and David Grayson; a daughter-in-law, Christy Duzan Grayson; two brothers, Omar Mefford and Bill Mefford; and a sister, Connie Henderson.
She was a member of Churn Creek Baptist Church, an avid Reds and Steelers fan and loved watching Kurt Busch in NASCAR.
Survivors include a son, Eric (Charity Riffe) Grayson of Vanceburg; three daughters, Edwina (Brian) Spence of Midland, Michigan, Andrea (Mike Saunders) Huisjack of Portsmouth, Ohio, and Julie (Scott Voiers) Grayson of West Portsmouth, Ohio; four stepchildren, Allen Meadows, Adana Meadows, Michelle Meadows and PD Meadows; four sisters, Pat Blevins, Diana Stratton, Elvara (Tom) Shivley, and Violet (Gary) Kirk; one brother, Wesley (Jane) Mefford; 14 grandchildren, Corey, Branham, Genis, Gaven, Jimmy, Kaleh, Abbie, Lynzee, Shawna, Danielle, Mason, Erica, David and Austin; 13 great-grandchildren; six adopted grandchildren, Jesse, Jeff, Kyle, Angelo, Billy and Sara; many nieces and nephews; a special nephew, Ralphie Hayslip, whom she called her cream puff; and a special former son-in-law, Erick Huisjack of Columbus, Ohio.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, September 1, 2016, at Adkins-Brant Funeral Home in Portsmouth with Pastor Ralph Hayslip officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens at Franklin Furnace, Ohio.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday and one hour prior to services on Thursday.
