Gorden Lee McGlone Sr., 83, of Garrison, passed away Thursday evening, October 10, 2019, at Vanceburg Rehabilitation and Care Center.
He was born November 18, 1935, in Lewis County, a son of the late William and Agnes Lewis McGlone.
Gorden was a member of Bivens Chapel Christian Holiness Church and worked for N&W Railroad for 28 years. He enjoyed going to church, farming, and spending time with his family.
Gorden is survived by his wife of 19 years, Dorthy Rowland Hartman McGlone; one son, Robie McGlone (Julie) of Vanceburg; two stepdaughters, Dawn Dean and Amanda Hartman, both of Olive Hill; four brothers, Bob McGlone of Olive Hill, Bruce McGlone of Grayson, Delbert McGlone of Camp Dix, and Curtis McGlone of Tollesboro; three sisters, Panzie Howard of Vanceburg, Annabelle Applegate of Tollesboro, and Susan McGlone of Vanceburg; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Martha Armstrong McGlone; three sons, Gorden McGlone Jr., Daniel McGlone, and Robin McGlone; two daughters, Cleo Elaine Pack and Eloise Cooper; and two sisters, Ada Stevenson and Alice Bivens.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday, October 14, 2019, at Dickerson Funeral Home in Vanceburg with Bro. Ronnie Conley officiating. Burial will follow in Riley Cemetery in Lewis County.
Friends may visit from 11:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Monday, October 14, 2019, at Dickerson Funeral Home, 110 West Second Street in Vanceburg.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
