Guns and jewelry taken in Quincy burglary

Deputy Bryon Walker is investigating a burglary that occurred Sunday morning at a Quincy home while the occupants were at church.
Walker said the burglary happened between 9:40 a.m. and 11:20 a.m. Sunday, August 7, while Keith and Lisa Chapman were attending church services a short distance away.
He said the burglar/s forced open an exterior door to an attached garage and entered the home at 314 Briary Road.
Walker said two gun safes and a jewelry box were taken.
Walker said the jewelry box contained a large quantity of various types of jewelry and the gun safes contained mostly long guns.

Among the guns taken in the incident are:
• Remington 1100 12 gauge semi-automatic shotgun
• Remington 870 12 gauge pump shotgun
• Winchester .22 rifle with scope
• SRS rifle
• Savage 30.06 rifle with scope
• Henry .22 lever action rifle
• muzzle load rifle
• Ruger .22 semi-automatic pistol with scope
• single action .22 revolver

Walker said he is investigating various leads in the incident but asks anyone who may have information to contact the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office at 606-796-2912.
