Harold Collier

Harold Bruce Collier, 87, of Garrison, passed away Friday, March 1, 2024, at Southern Ohio Medical Center Hospice in Portsmouth, Ohio.

He was born in Lewis County on August 26, 1936, a son of the late Raymond and Della Gifford Collier.

Harold loved farming, gardening, and sharing the bounty with everyone. He never missed an opportunity to play with his grandkids and great grandkids. He was famous for his unique inventions that solved problems and made life more interesting. One of his famous lines when leaving was, “See ya next trip!” Pappaw, we will make sure to close the gate for you.

Survivors include a daughter, Gaila (Ron) Brown of Garrison; two sons, Lonnie (Karin) Collier and Kirk Douglas (Alma) Collier of Garrison; two sisters, Loretta Hall of Garrison and Beulah Jones of Knoxville, Tennessee; four brothers, Raymond Collier, Paul Collier, and Darrell Collier of Garrison, and Hershel Collier of Bellefonte; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Many other family members and friends also survive who will sadly miss him.

In addition to his parents, Harold was preceded in death by his loving wife of 54 years, Pauline Stapleton Collier; one daughter, Polly Ann Collier; two brothers, Delbert Collier and Marshall Collier; and one granddaughter, Amy Caseman.

Services will be at Noon Wednesday, March 6, 2024, at Globe Family Funeral Chapel, 103 Dudley Avenue at Garrison, with Bro. Ben Collier officiating. Burial will follow in Waring Cemetery at Garrison.

Friends may visit after 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 6, 2024, at Globe Family Funeral Chapel at Garrison.
