Helen Faye Wilburn Cooley, 78, of Garrison, passed away Friday, November 24, 2023, at South Shore Nursing and Rehabilitation.
She was born in Lewis County on August 14, 1945, a daughter of the late Richard Wilburn and Hazel Zornes Williamson.
Helen was a long-time member of Grace Baptist Church and loved reading her Bible and attending church at the nursing facility. She was a caregiver and homemaker, and enjoyed spending time with her family and special friend, Christy Osborne, whom she met at the nursing facility.
Survivors include a son, Stephen Cooley of Montana; three sisters, Barbara (Gary) Emory of California, and Betty Jo (Joe Ed) Willis and Sherry Gayheart of Garrison; five grandchildren, Jarred Cooley, Stephanie Cooley, Waylon Cooley, BJ Rhoden, and Michael Rhoden; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.
In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Cooley, and one daughter, Carla Rhoden.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at Globe Family Funeral Chapel, 103 Dudley Avenue at Garrison, with Bro. Brad Stone officiating. Burial will follow in Crystal Dawn Cemetery at Quincy.
Family and friends may visit after Noon Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at Globe Family Funeral Chapel at Garrison, Kentucky.
Pallbearers will be Michael Rhoden, BJ Rhoden, Hunter Rhoden, Kevin Rhoden, Jerrad Cooley, and Waylon Cooley.
